Saddle-type Water Flow Indicator ZSJZ

I. Purpose of Saddle-Type Water Flow Indicator ZSJZ:

The ZSJZ series water flow indicator is a key component of wet automatic sprinkler systems. It is generally installed at the beginning of the main fire protection pipes in each zone of the system. It converts the signal of water flow into an electrical output signal, which is sent to the electrical control box or fire control center to display the area where water flow is activated or a fire alarm is triggered, thereby enabling monitoring and alarm functions for the system.

II. Working Principle of Saddle-Type Water Flow Indicator ZSJZ:

When a fire occurs in a zone of the wet sprinkler system, the sprinkler head activates by heat to extinguish the fire (or when staff open the end test valve for a water discharge test). The water flow in the pipe drives the vane, directly (two-wire system) activating the microswitch to provide a water flow signal. This allows the electrical control box or fire control center to display the fire alarm signal for that zone.

V. Installation, Use, and Maintenance Instructions for Saddle-Type Water Flow Indicator ZSJZ:

1. The saddle-type water flow indicator is paired with a QT450 saddle-type base. During installation, use a hole cutter on the predetermined pipeline to drill a round hole. Remove any cuttings and debris from the hole, place the saddle base over the round hole on the pipeline, insert the U-bolt from the bottom of the pipeline through the round holes on both sides of the saddle base, and then tighten the nuts. Avoid excessive force to prevent breaking the saddle base.

2. The pipeline connected to the water flow indicator must ensure that the straight pipe length before and after is not less than 5 times the pipe diameter. Select the water flow indicator and corresponding vane (installed with the branch direction facing downward) based on the nominal diameter of the pipeline.

3. The water flow indicator should be installed vertically and horizontally. The top of the plastic housing should have at least 100 mm of space from the building ceiling to allow for opening the housing during debugging.

4. For wiring, directly connect the two signal wires to the two signal wires of the microswitch.

5. During installation, pay attention to the water flow direction; it must not be installed in the reverse direction (the flow direction on the nameplate should match the pipeline water flow direction).
